VSPC has an independent board with demonstrable skills in strategic management, finance and commercialisation, contract negotiations and international business dealings.
Jeremy Davis AM- Chairman, B Ec, MBA, MA(Econ)
Mr Davis is a non-executive director of a range of companies including Singapore Power, Transurban and CHAMP Ventures Management, a private equity group. He was a Director of The Boston Consulting Group, including terms as Managing Partner of offices in Paris and San Francisco. He is a Professor Emeritus of the University of New South Wales, having served as Dean of the Australian Graduate School of Management.
Neil Griffin – Director and Company Secretary
Mr Griffin practised at the Victorian Bar before joining Freehills to establish the first specialist group of lawyers providing legal services to major development, construction, engineering and mining projects. His responsibilities at Freehills also included human resources and professional development. In 1996, Mr. Griffin started a merchant investment bank that provided services to the private and public sectors for the facilitation of infrastructure projects. He provided advice in the founding of VSPC.
Ian Edney – Director
Mr Edney is a foundation shareholder of Very Small Particle Company. He is a lawyer and former senior company executive, having worked for more than 28 years at BHP Billiton in roles including global head of tax and group treasurer. He has been a director of various BHP Billiton subsidiary companies, is a former president of the Corporate Tax Association of Australia and has international experience across a range of industries including banking and finance, mining and petroleum, and manufacturing.
Warren Davis- Director, BEc, FFin, ASA
Mr Davis has more than eight years’ experience in the manufacturing sector and over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Before the company floated in 2004, he was a director of Babcock and Brown Australia Pty Ltd, where he was involved in the raising of funds for financial products and projects. He is a director and significant investor in NanoChem Holdings P/L whose origins and challenges resemble those of VSPC.
Ross Skerman- Director, BAppSci
Mr Skerman entered the oil industry in South East Asia before he joined Delhi Petroleum, managing the company’s presence in Queensland, particularly the South West Queensland Gas development. More recently, Mr Skerman has been the principal and MD of Resource and Land Management Services Pty Ltd, which specialises in corridor mapping, environment approvals and land acquisition.
