Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) as a cathode material is one of the most important and differentiating components of lithium ion batteries and is a major determinant of the final performance and cost of a rechargeable battery.

The global drive behind the electrification of transport has put rechargeable batteries, particularly lithium ion batteries, at the fore.  Almost every major car manufacturer has an electric vehicle either in production of due for release in the next five years.  These vehicles can be Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) or Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV).

VSPC’s proprietary, patent-protected manufacturing process yields a very uniform primary powder of  primary particle sizes selectable between 40 and 400 nm, and agglomerates selectable from 3µm to 20µm.

VSPC has a competitive advantage in that no other company can achieve large-scale, reproducible manufacture of LFP in these size ranges on the same manufacturing line at relatively low cost.

Depending on what properties are needed, VSPC can make LFP, LFMP or Li-doped LFP and LFMP.


The LFP battery is the safest and most environmentally friendly and has the longest life cycle in comparison to other batteries based on lithium chemistry.
